Jeremy Ranch Is One Of The Best Places To Golf In Park City

04-8-2022 | Local Area | 5 Min Read

If you’re familiar with Park City — or almost any other Utah community for that matter — you’ll know that the locals here love nothing more than spending time outdoors.

Whether it’s our seemingly endless collection of mountain trails and hiking routes, our world-class selection of ski resorts, or even our year-round extreme sports destinations like Woodward Park City, we truly have some of the best outdoor amenities right here in Park City.

Within the Park City community one outdoor activity, in particular, seems to be grabbing some of the headlines recently: the timeless game of golf.

If you’re an avid golfer or just want to know what all the noise is about, here are a few of the standout golf destinations in and around the Jeremy Ranch area to watch out for.

Jeremy Ranch Golf & Country Club

Evidently one of the most local golfing destinations on our list is the Jeremy Ranch’s namesake golf club, the Jeremy Ranch Golf & Country Club. Found at 8770 Jeremy Road in central Jeremy Ranch, this celebrated establishment is Utah’s only Arnold Palmer-designed signature course.

Since opening its doors in 1981, the Jeremy Ranch Golf & Country Club has been one of Park City’s most premier golf courses, attracting both professional and casual golfers from around the world to its lush greens.

Not only is the 18-hole championship course at this Jeremy Ranch club designed to top-tier specifications, but it’s set in truly breathtaking surroundings, too. With the stunning Upper East Canyon Creek of the Wasatch Mountains visible from every hole, this golf course offers its players much more than just a great round of golf, but a memorable way to experience Utah at its best.

This course and club are so popular, in fact, that many keen golfers will actually purchase homes in the Jeremy Ranch area in order to be more eligible for club memberships. As the rule goes, if your primary residence is more than 250 linear miles from Park City, you must request a Non-Resident Membership, which is only available to a limited number of members (and is currently fully booked, at the time of writing).

If that doesn’t speak volumes for the quality of this course, we’re not sure what will! However, we know from first-hand real estate experience that many people thoroughly enjoy living in the Jeremy Ranch area, including non-golfers.

Glenwild Golf Club & Spa

Just a short drive east along Rasmussen Road from the Jeremy Ranch Golf & Country Club is where you’ll find the next locally-adored golf club in the area, the Glenwild Golf Club & Spa. Designed by famed golf course architect Tom Fazio, this par-71 championship course at 7600 Glenwild Drive in Park City is genuinely a sight to behold.

Set against the inspiring backdrop of the surrounding Wasatch Mountain ranges and various creeks and lakes, there’s a reason the course at Glenwild is one of the most popular in the area and, as they say, one of the finest in America.

Whatever your handicap, you’re sure to find a challenge suited to your skill level here. This 18-hole course has separate Tee placements across each hole to ensure even the most talented of golfers are tested while simultaneously making the course and club accessible to those still learning the rub of the green.

To learn about the more particular details of each hole, you can take the Glenwild Course Tour here!

Mountain Dell Golf Course

Located about halfway between Salt Lake City and Park City along Highway I-80 is Mountain Dell Golf Course in the neighborhood of Parleys Canyon, about 10 miles west of Jeremy Ranch.

Sitting at an altitude of about 6,000 feet above sea level, this high-elevation golf course is over 500 feet higher than anything else in this part of the valley. However, the aspect we love the most about Mountain Dell Golf Course isn’t its high altitude, it’s its accessibility! Both of Mountain Dell’s two separate 18-hole courses, the Lake Course and the Canyon Course, are both open to the public to play on.

That means that no matter how seasoned a golfer you are, you don’t have much of an excuse to get out and hit some balls in the crisp, cool, and thin mountain air at Mountain Dell. To find either of these heralded public courses, simply look out for exit 134 on I-80 near Parleys Canyon and take the scenic route all the way up to the summit.

Canyons Golf

Situated about a 15-minute drive from Jeremy Ranch is Canyons Golf in the Canyons Village community of Park City. The course at Canyons Golf is located at 3636 Willow Draw, and just like its surrounding topography, has some drastic and spectacular changes in elevation — 550 feet, to be exact!

Designed by admired golf course architects Gene and Casey Bates, the 18-hole, par 70-course at Canyons Golf is a wonderfully sculpted course featuring memorable views and picturesque scenery around every corner.

When talking about memorable views and picturesque scenery, Canyons Golf truly left the best for last, as the island 18th hole is completely surrounded by the waters of the Willow Draw Stream.
